How do I get started making conference calls? |
After you have registered with Best Conferencing, your confirmation e-mail will
contain all the information you need to begin teleconferencing. Then, simply provide
each participant: |
The date and time of the conference call |
The dial-in number and participant passcode.
At the time of the call: |
The moderator (host) calls the dial-in number and enters the moderator passcode
and the # sign. |
Participants call the dial-in number and enter the participant passcode and the
# sign.
You are now conference calling. |
Can moderator or participants call in from outside
the United States? |
Yes. |
From Canada the moderator and participants can dial-in using the
same toll-free dial-in number as US participants. This is provided with your audioconferencing
service. |
From other international locations, moderator and participants
can dial-in using the international toll dial-in number provided with your audioconferencing
service.
How can I set up a regularly recurring conference
call? |
You have two options. |
You can use your current dial-in number and passcodes, simply informing participants
that you will have a regularly scheduled conference call, e.g., every Tuesday from 9-11 AM. |
Or, you may request a separate, reserved conference call number, with a different dial-in
number, moderator and participant passcodes...at the same low rate as your current
service. This is called a scheduled/unattended conference call. You may request
this from Best Conferencing reservation agent toll free at 800-890-1117.

How do I ensure privacy for my most sensitive calls? |
We offer a range of security features and options depending on your needs.
Basic security features included for all conference calls:
Dedicated dial-in numbers and separate moderator and participant codes. (Moderator
code should be kept private and secure, like credit card information.) |
On-hold music playing until the moderator dials-in to ensure conference calls are not occurring
without the presence of the moderator.
Lock conference, enabled by moderator's touch-tone controls, to prevent additional
callers from entering.
Mute all participants, enabled by moderator's touch-tone controls.
Disconnect all participant lines, enabled by moderator's touch-tone controls.
Conference security code is the highest level of security, available with any conference
call. Moderator pre-determines a 4-16 digit PIN code and provides this to participants
prior to the call. Once enabled via the *31 touch-tone control, this feature asks
the moderator to enter the PIN at the beginning of the call and then the PIN must
be entered by all participants. Conference security code is not saved on the bridge
and is erased at the end of each conference call.
Features that can be activated on request: |
Voice on entry and exit, which announces participants' names as they enter a conference
call and/or as they leave the call. |
Roll Call, when name is captured on entry into conference call.
How far in advance do I need to set up a reserved
call? |
Almost immediately. Please contact our reservation agents toll free at 800-890-1117.
You will be provided with a dial-number and unique passcodes for each conference
call or series of calls (e.g., every Friday at 10 AM). |
How far in advance do I need to schedule an attended
call? |
Since attended calls involve a significant amount of operator time, please schedule
those as far in advance as possible so we can accommodate your desired schedule.
We generally require 2 weeks notice, although we will try to accomodate calls in
shorter timeframes on an individual case basis. |
How much will a conference call cost? |
The Best Audio Conferencing standard rate is 10 cents per minute per participant.
The total cost of a conference call is based on the type of call, number of participants
and how long each participant is on the call. Some examples: |

How will minutes be calculated for conference calls? |
Each participant will be charged only for their time on the conference call. The charge for
any participant begins when the participant enters the call and ends when the participant
disconnects from the call. As shown in the example above, a group of participants
using a speakerphone are charged for just one call. The moderator can press *93
to ensure that all participant lines are disconnected at the end of the call. Fractional
minutes will be rounded to the next whole minute. |
How do I keep track of my costs for the calls? |
All customers receive a monthly summary bill via e-mail. You can review billing
details for each call (number of participants, date and time of the call, and each
participant's usage) at bestconferencing.com. Log-in on the
Access Your Account page to reach the
Account Management section. Click on View Bills. |
What will I see on my credit card? |
You will see a charge from Best Conferencing at the end of each billing cycle for
all services and usage from the previous month. |
