Account Number |
|
Every Best Conferencing customer is assigned a unique master number, used for billing
and account management. You can have multiple users associated with the account
number. You will see your account number on the View Profile page and on your bill. |

Attended Call |
|
Conference call with a dedicated operator on the call announcing and monitoring
the call, managing any Q&A sessions or other requested services. Also referred
to as an operator-assisted call. |
|
Break-out Conference |
|
Also known as a sub-conference. A separate, smaller conference or break-out group
that takes place within a main conference call. This is organized by the moderator
or, in attended calls, by the operator at the moderator’s request.

|
Bridge |
|
The teleconferencing equipment used to connect two or more telephone lines, so that
all participants can access the same conference call. Best Conferencing provides
the bridge equipment.
|
|
Client ID |
|
A number generated by Best Conferencing as an added security measure. You will be
prompted for this ID to use certain features, e.g. dial-out access to add participants
(*95).
|
|
Dial-in Number |
|
The phone number that all call participants dial to access a conference call. Dial-in
capability is available at any time during a conference call. |
|
Dial-out Access |
|
A feature that allows the moderator to add a participant after the call has started
by pressing *95 then dialing the new participant’s phone number.
|
|
Listen-only Mode |
|
A one-way communication mode that enables conference participants to listen without
having the ability to speak to others on the conference call. This feature is commonly
used with large calls to eliminate background noise and facilitate the running of
the call. |

Local Access Number
|
|
The ability to use a local telephone number to access a multinational conference
call. Also referred to as a toll dial-in number. Enables participation for callers
outside the US and Canada.

|
Log-in ID |
|
Each customer will create their own unique log-in ID, as well as password, to access
their account profile and usage records.
|
|
Moderator |
|
The host of the conference call or appointed representative. This person usually
facilitates the call. |
|
Muting |
|
A feature that enables the moderator to silence all participant lines at any time
during the call (Mute/un-mute *96/97). Often used during presentations. Participants
can mute or un-mute their own lines to eliminate background noise (Participant mute/un-mute
*6). |
|
Number Sign/Pound Sign |
|
Refers to the # symbol on a touch-tone phone. |
|
Operator-Assisted Conference Call |
|
Conference call with a dedicated operator on the call announcing and monitoring
the call, managing any Q&A sessions or other requested services. Also referred
to as an attended call. |

Participant List |
|
A list of conference attendees available during or after an attended or operator
assisted call, available upon request.
|
|
Passcode |
|
A number generated by Best Conferencing and provided to customers to enable them
to access their conference calls. There is a moderator passcode, which should be
kept confidential and secure, and a participant passcode. Passcodes are used in
conjunction with dial-in numbers to join a conference call. |

Password |
|
Upon registering with Best Conferencing, each customer creates a unique, private
password to access their account. Passwords may be changed in the account management
section of the web site.

Q&A |
|
The point in a conference in which participants can interact and ask questions by
signaling on their telephone keypads. |
|
Record and Playback
|
|
Feature that records the call for listening after the call. Playback can be accessed
via the phone for 30 days after the call. The recording can also be obtained on
a CD. |
|
Reservationless Service |
|
A service where the moderator sets up and facilitates the conference call…no need
to schedule the call with an operator in advance, simply use your dial-in number
and passcodes.

Reserved Call |
|
A service in which a Best Conferencing reservations agent is used to schedule a
call or series of calls in advance. You receive a unique dial-in number and passcodes.
Once dialed-in the participants join the call without any operator assistance. Also
known as a scheduled, unattended conference call. |

Roll Call |
|
Provides the moderator with a list of participant names. Used in conjunction with
name on entry/exit or an operator assisted call. |
|
Scheduled, Unattended Conference Call |
|
A service in which a Best Conferencing reservations agent is used to schedule a
call or series of calls in advance. You receive a unique dial-in number and passcodes.
Once dialed-in the participants join the call without any operator assistance. |

Sub-conference |
|
Also referred to as a break-out conference…a separate, smaller conference or sub-group

Toll Number |
|
A national or international number where the caller pays for the phone call. |
|
Toll Free Number |
|
A phone number where the call is free to the caller. |

Voice on Entry/Exit |
|
A feature that announces participants’ names as they enter a conference call and/or
as they leave the call. Generally used for an added level of security. |
